A Personal Message From Mr. Angel:

Since 1963 I have promoted tournaments throughout the United States.  This particular tournament is the product of careful planning and hard work by the dedicated members of the NCMA.  The Tournament Committee has been meeting monthly for over six months now to put this event together for our members and invited guests.

Formed in 1989, the National College of Martial Arts International is dedicated to the promotion of all martial art styles throughout the world in a non-partisan, non-political format so that all styles come together in one accord in the true spirit of the arts.  This event is not only the celebration of twenty years of this accord but will also mark, for the twentieth time, an official tournament involving Karate, Jui Jitsu, Taekwondo, and Chinese Martial Arts all working together under one banner and presided over personally by me.  After forty-six years, my dream of bringing all styles together under one umbrella is a reality.  Our events are warm, inviting and like a family gathering instead of a war of “my style is better than yours”.

For the 2010 National College of Martial Arts tournament, we have put together a format that is intended to accommodate the richness and diversity in our traditions and styles.  Because of our member base of schools we are positioned to offer you a non-biased tournament with some of the best judges/judging for any open style tournament that you will ever attend.

On Friday night we will have one seminar available for each of you to attend.  You will not want to miss this opportunity to train and broaden your martial horizons.

For more information, you may call me directly at (417) 781-4052, via e-mail at tenshigoju@hotmail.com or by visiting the tournament website at http://www.ncmatourney.com .

I hope each of you will come out and support this event either as competitors, judges, volunteers or spectators. We welcome all individuals and schools regardless of style, discipline or affiliation. This is an opportunity to get to know everyone else and let everyone else get to know you.  So come on out and lets celebrate together. Springfield is beautiful in June and the weather perfect. See you all there.

Yours in the true spirit of the arts,

Lou Angel, Hanshi
